The Nordforest 1200 winch is a versatile all-rounder that, thanks to its light weight and high pulling force, is suitable for a wide range of tasks. Whether it’s hauling timber, securing and moving light-duty trailers, vehicle recovery, or wildlife recovery—the Spillwinch 1200 offers a wide range of applications.
All winch functions—such as pulling, holding, and releasing the load—are controlled from a safe distance of 5 meters away from the winch, outside the danger zone. Pulling on the loose end of the rope activates the throttle lever on the control unit, and the winch begins to rotate. This function also serves as an important safety feature known as the deadman’s switch. When the pull rope is released, the winch idles, and the load is securely held in place by the rope clamp and the friction of the rope on the capstan drum.
The use of a capstan drum offers two major advantages over conventional drum winches. First, a lightweight plastic winch rope can be used, and the rope length can be chosen freely since it can be wound around the capstan at any point. Second, the pulling force remains constant at all times, since only one strand of rope is on the spool at any given moment.
The Spill Winch 1200 is powered by the Brutale 6.5 2-stroke engine from Active. This engine, which runs on the same special fuel (2-stroke alkylate gasoline) as chainsaws, operates regardless of its position. Equipped with a particularly durable gear transmission with oil-bath lubrication, the 1200 winch achieves
