Tractor Classifieds – Private Listings from Farmers

The tractor classifieds section on Landwirt.com brings together private sellers and buyers looking for great deals on farm tractors. While our main used tractors marketplace features comprehensive dealer and private listings with detailed specifications, the classifieds section focuses on private sales from individual farmers looking to sell their machines directly. This often means competitive prices and the opportunity to learn the full history of a tractor from its owner.

You will find tractors of all sizes and ages in our classifieds, from compact orchard tractors and utility models to powerful all-purpose machines suited for large-scale arable farming. Popular brands such as John Deere, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Case IH, Deutz-Fahr, Steyr and Kubota are well represented. Many private sellers offer tractors with front loaders, cab air conditioning and modern hydraulic systems that are ready to work from day one.

Buying a tractor from a private seller can be a rewarding experience. You get the chance to inspect the machine on the seller’s farm, see it in operation and hear first-hand about its strengths, maintenance history and any quirks. Use the search filters on Landwirt.com to find tractors by brand, horsepower range, year and price. Browse our classifieds alongside the dedicated tractors section to ensure you find the best possible deal.

What is the difference between the tractor classifieds and the main tractor section?

The classifieds section primarily features private listings from individual farmers selling their tractors, often at competitive prices with the advantage of first-hand usage history. The main tractors section includes both dealer and private listings with more detailed technical specifications, professional photos and sometimes warranty options. Browsing both sections gives you the widest possible selection and the best chance of finding the right tractor at the right price.

How do I negotiate a fair price for a used tractor?

Research comparable models on Landwirt.com to understand the market value for the age, brand, horsepower and condition you are looking at. When viewing the tractor, note any issues that may justify a lower offer, such as worn tyres, hydraulic leaks or cosmetic damage. Ask about the service history and hours of use. Be prepared to make a fair offer based on your research and be respectful in your negotiation. Both parties benefit when a deal is transparent and reasonable.

What should I check before buying a used tractor?

Before purchasing, check the engine for smooth starting, steady idle and clean exhaust. Inspect the hydraulic system for leaks and test all functions including the three-point hitch and remote valves. Examine the tyres for tread and cracking, test the brakes and PTO, and check the transmission for smooth shifting. Review the hour meter reading against the overall condition. Ask for service records and find out if any major components have been replaced or repaired recently.
