Description

This wild species from northwest Thailand, several males and hens from April 2025, all naturally raised, are extremely fast compared to domestic chickens, and thus resistant to predators. Red junglefowl males are also ideal as guards for a flock of domestic chickens. The light weight of the male prevents the hens from being overworked or injured, as is the case with so many domestic chickens. Roosters crow rarely or only very quietly and briefly, and only at a specific time of day. Red junglefowl are also indispensable as crossbreeding partners for German Bush Chicken (which has some wild blood) and as regenerators for completely degenerated breeds such as the Altsteirer or Sulmtaler. Minimal feed requirements.
