Weniger Betriebe, mehr Bio und wachsende Fl\u00e4chen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Die j\u00fcngsten Zahlen der Agrarstrukturerhebung 2023 von Statistik Austria zeigen einen klaren Trend in der \u00f6sterreichischen Landwirtschaft: Weniger Betriebe, daf\u00fcr gr\u00f6\u00dfere Fl\u00e4chen und ein zunehmender Fokus auf biologische Bewirtschaftung.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"544\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17038\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1-300x85.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1-1030x292.jpg 1030w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1-768x218.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1-1536x435.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1-1500x425.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WP-1-705x200.jpg 705w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R\u00fcckgang bei der Zahl der landwirtschaftlichen Betriebe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mit 101.036 landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben im Jahr 2023 verzeichnet \u00d6sterreich einen R\u00fcckgang von 8,8 % im Vergleich zur letzten Erhebung 2020. Das bedeutet, dass knapp 10.000 Betriebe ihre T\u00e4tigkeit eingestellt oder umstrukturiert haben. Trotz dieses R\u00fcckgangs bleibt die Landwirtschaft ein zentraler Besch\u00e4ftigungssektor: Rund 305.000 Menschen waren in landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben t\u00e4tig, fast 79 % davon aus der Familie des Betriebes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gr\u00f6\u00dfere Betriebe und steigende Tierzahlen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Strukturwandel zeigt sich auch in der durchschnittlichen Betriebsgr\u00f6\u00dfe: Diese stieg von 23,6 auf 25,6 Hektar, ein Zuwachs von 8,5 %. Parallel dazu nahm auch die durchschnittliche Zahl der gehaltenen Tiere je Betrieb leicht zu \u2013 etwa bei Rindern von 34 auf 36 und bei Schweinen von 112 auf 119.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Biolandbau gewinnt weiter an Bedeutung<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besonders erfreulich ist die Entwicklung im Biolandbau: Knapp 24.100 Betriebe \u2013 das sind 23,8 % aller landwirtschaftlichen Betriebe \u2013 wirtschaften nach biologischen Richtlinien. Auch wenn die absolute Zahl der Biobetriebe leicht zur\u00fcckging (\u22123,1 %), nahm die biologisch bewirtschaftete Fl\u00e4che zu und liegt nun bei 691.945 Hektar. Durchschnittlich bewirtschaftet ein Biobetrieb 28,8 ha, mehr als der konventionelle Durchschnitt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bundesl\u00e4nder im Vergleich<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besonders viele Biobetriebe finden sich in Nieder\u00f6sterreich (6.406), Ober\u00f6sterreich (4.477) und der Steiermark (4.030). Proportional am st\u00e4rksten ist der Biolandbau jedoch in Salzburg, wo \u00fcber 49 % der landwirtschaftlichen Fl\u00e4che biologisch bewirtschaftet wird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"784\" height=\"361\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17028\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4.png 784w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4-300x138.png 300w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4-768x354.png 768w, https:\/\/www.landwirt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4-705x325.png 705w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 784px) 100vw, 784px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fazit: Weniger ist mehr?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die \u00f6sterreichische Landwirtschaft wird weniger, aber effizienter. W\u00e4hrend kleinere Familienbetriebe zunehmend unter wirtschaftlichem Druck stehen, zeigt sich auch eine Spezialisierung und Professionalisierung.
